Our Story & Philosophy
The primary focus of Terasaki Japanese Immersion Preschool is the healthy and happy development of the whole child – Cognitive, Language, Social-emotional and Physical. Our child-centered philosophy allows children to learn through play by exploring their environment at their own developmental pace.
Our school is founded on the principle that the best education for young children will result from a partnership between parents, teachers, and children who work together to provide a caring, trusting, and noncompetitive environment in which our children can flourish as individuals and friends.
Our Mission
Terasaki Japanese Immersion Preschool (TJIP) is to develop active thinkers in a safe, loving, dual-language, and active learning environment that inspires children of diverse backgrounds to fulfill their unlimited potential, while changing the shape and availability of preschool for children living in Los Angeles, through a focused preschool program and partnerships with parents and community members.
Terasaki Japanese Immersion Preschool’s mission is to support the Sawtelle-Japan town community through the preservation and promotion of Japanese language school and Japanese and Japanese-American culture, history, and values by providing a wide variety of Japanese and Japanese-American cultural, community, and educational programs.
